Cayuga vs. Avery - Class A-Region III, Division I semifinals

End of Game
Cayuga finishes off Avery for an 83-46 win in the regional semifinals. Cayuga scored over 20 points in three of the four quarters. C.J. Wagner had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Check out the Herald-Press web site for complete story.

Fourth Quarter
5:19 - Freshman Preston Anderson having an impressive regional tournament debut. The lanky shooter just hit his third three pointer and has 13 points. Cayuga leads 70-42.

Fourth Quarter
6:44 - Malcome Kennedy just had his second big dunk of the game and now slices through the defense for a layup while getting fouled. He misses the foul shot but Cayuga leads 67-38.

End of Third Quarter
Cayuga leads 63-36 going into the fourth quarter. Does not look like the Wildcats will make the century mark even though they were one pace at halftime. But don't think Coach Jenkins or the rest of the Wildcats really care about that as they prepare for a matchup against Martin's Mill.

Third Quarter
1:33 - Cayuga in complete control of this one, leading 63-34. C.J. Wagner having a big night with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He has seven offensive rebounds ans Cayuga is crashing the boards.

Third Quarter
6:50 - Traylon Shead gets a layup and Shak Jenkins hits a pair of free throws and Cayuga has a 30-point lead, 56-26.

Halftime
Cayuga scored six points in the final minute plus to get the lead back to 20-plus points, 52-26. C.J. Wagner leads Cayuga with 12 points, Preston Anderson had 10 points and Traylon Shead has six points. Avery is just over matched against Cayuga, who has speed and size over the Bulldogs.

Second Quarter
2:07 - Preston Anderson hits his second three pointer and Cayuga leads 43-24. Avery's Brock Giles has hit five three pointers to try and keep the Bulldogs in the game.

Second Quarter
5:47 - Preston Anderson hits a three pointer and Cayuga takes a 31-10 lead.

End First Quarter
Cayuga has come out strong, storming to a 25-9 first-quarter lead. Traylon Shead finished off the quarter with a steal and a layup. Cayuga right now is just too quick for Avery and the Wildcats have been able to dictate the pace of this game. Avery likes to slow the game down, but may not be able to if this continues.

First Quarter
3"45 - CJ Wagner and Dalevin Campbell hit three pointers and Cayuga leads 19-7. Cayuga calls a full timeout as Jenkins looks like he wants to set up offense. Preston Anderson, Chris Turner and Caleb Summerville all check in.

First Quarter
5:42 - Malcome Kennedy just picks up second foul as Cayuga leads 11-2. Dalevin Campbell gets ready to check in for Kennedy.

First Quarter
6:20 - Kennedy gets another steal for a C.J. Wagner basket and Duncan gets a putback and Cayuga leads 11-0 in first two minutes

First Quarter
7:09 - Cayuga scored seven points in the first minute for a 7-0 lead. Traylon Shead has a putback, Billy Duncan hits a three and then Malcome Kennedy gets a steal on the in bound for a layup. Quick Avery timeout.

Pregame
20 minutes before the start of the Class A-Region III, Division I semifinal game against Cayuga and Avery. Cayuga enters the game as the No. 1 team in the state and has a record of 18-2. Avery enters the game with a record of 25-7. The winner plays Martin's Mill in the regional finals at noon Saturday.
