Getting ready for the state tournament

In Austin this morning at the Frank Erwin Center, waiting for Cayuga to play its semifinal game. First off though is Gruver vs. Bronte in the first semifinal game. Cayuga has a chance if it wins the state title this weekend to win a title in both football and basketball. I talked to a UIL representative this morning and was told that it has happened three times before - a team winning both in football ans basketball. I also asked about how many times a county had three state champions in basketball. It could happen for Anderson County after Neches girls won last week and Cayuga and Slocum playing this week. However, that question was a little tougher and could not be answered. Maybe by the end of the weekend, we will have an answer to that one.
